STEELE YARD

building confidence in your equine partnership

At Steele Yard we strive to create a safe, fun learning environment where students flourish. We offer a small, boutique training program that every detail is customized for each rider and horse. Our head trainer Matty Ringel creates opportunity for each rider to gain confidence and hone their skills in a fun environment. Currently, we offer two locations for training clients in Modesto and Turlock.

ABOUT US

Steele Yard was created as a private equine investment partnership between Benjamin Steele and Alexandra Ireland in 2017 bringing top hunter jumper horses from Europe to California. During the early stages, Alexandra spent a majority of her time in Europe searching for perfect horses for the US market and continuing her education.

After returning to California, Alexandra now rides as an amateur, focusing on the investment horses owned by Steele Yard at their private facility in Ceres, Ca.

Matty Ringel joined the Steele Yard as a training team full time in 2020 and has been a crucial part of the growth of the business. Her love for the horses and teaching has enriched every part of Steele Yard. She now runs the training program at both locations full time and has built an incredible client base that enjoys a balance of fun, friendship, and success in and out of the show ring.

At Steele Yard we spend the extra time with each client and their horse to help them achieve their goals, whether they are just getting comfortable cantering to making the leap to the 3'6", every client is given personal attention. We focus on confidence and understanding the philosophy behind every exercise so not only do students excel but they truly understand the concepts of what they have learned and can continue to recreate their success for years to come.

There are only two emotions that belong in the saddle; one is a sense of humor and the other is patience.
